About HexClad
HexClad is an American non-stick cookware company that makes products for both professional chefs and novice home cooks. If you’re tired of replacing your pots and pans every year because they’re scratched, these sets could put an end to that cycle.
Co-founders Danny Winer and Cole Mecray brought HexClad technology to the US market and began launching and selling cookware in 2017. Their goal was to create durable pots and pans that would last a lifetime.
Danny Winer, the current President and CEO, believes that certain unique elements set HexClad’s cookware apart from the competition. The hexagon design, for example, consists of a network of peaks and valleys.
The peaks are made of stainless steel, while the valleys are made of the non-stick material – making the cookware suitable for different purposes. Many conventional non-stick pans do not tolerate metal utensils scraping against them.
It’s easy enough to trust the legendary Oprah, but there’s nothing wrong with getting a second opinion. Check out my Hexclad cookware review for details about the company, its products, offerings and more to help you decide if the collection is right for you.

What Sets HexClad Apart?
HexClad is a cookware brand with a unique hexagonal pattern on the cooking surface that sets it apart from conventional cookware.
Here are some of the features that set HexClad apart:
- Hexagonal pattern: the unique hexagonal pattern on the cooking surface of HexClad cookware ensures even heating and prevents food from sticking, making it easy to cook and clean.
- Hybrid technology: HexClad cookware has been developed with a combination of stainless steel and non-stick technology, combining the advantages of both materials. The stainless steel ensures durability and a glowing surface, while the non-stick coating ensures that food releases easily.
- Easy to clean: The hexagonal pattern on the cooking surface of HexClad cookware makes cleaning easier as food does not stick to the surface.
- Versatile: HexClad cookware is suitable for all types of stoves, including induction, gas, electric and ceramic.
- Durable: HexClad cookware is made from high-quality, durable materials, making it a long-term investment for your kitchen.
Overall, HexClad cookware offers a unique and innovative cooking experience with its hexagonal pattern and hybrid technology. The cookware’s durability and versatility make it a worthwhile investment for amateur cooks looking for high-quality, easy-to-use cookware.
How Long Does HexClad Last?
The CEO of HexClad himself estimates that the cookware can last between 20 and 30 years. This company is also relatively new – it only started selling pans in 2017. It is therefore difficult to estimate exactly how long the products will function as intended.
The longevity of cookware also depends on how well it is cared for. In general, non-stick coatings do not do well if they are repeatedly scrubbed with scouring pads or put in the dishwasher.
Fortunately, HexClad is dishwasher safe. The brand recommends the following care instructions before first use:
- Wash your pan with warm, soapy water straight from the packaging
- Season the HexClad pan by placing it on low heat and rubbing some oil into it with a paper towel. Allow the pan to heat up for 1-2 minutes
- When you are ready to start cooking, you can throw your food in. If not, let it cool down before washing it again.
What Is The Coating On HexClad Cookware?
HexClad pans have a “laser-engraved, hexagonal design”. The stainless steel surface is coated with a Japanese ceramic non-stick coating. This protective layer also contains diamond dust for extra durability, even heat distribution and good searing of food.
Is HexClad PFOA-Free?
For those unfamiliar with the terminology: PFOA stands for perfluorooctanoic acid – a chemical commonly used in the manufacture of non-stick cookware. It is also found in stain-resistant carpets, water-repellent clothing and much more. Products containing PFOA can remain in the environment for a long time.
This chemical has been shown to cause disease and certain cancers such as kidney cancer and thyroid disease. This can be the case when people are exposed to large amounts of this chemical. Fortunately, HexClad is free of PFOA.
