About Luxome
Sleep is a big topic at the moment. There are dozens of apps, trackers and supplements to help us get more of it. However, I’m rather taken with the idea of switching off my devices, ditching the CBD gummies and taking a physically therapeutic approach instead.
Luxome specializes in luxurious weighted blankets that are made of high-quality fabrics and refresh the traditional design of weighted blankets. The brand has already been featured in articles by Prevention.com, Shape Magazine and New York Magazine. So it seems like they’re a big deal. But are they worth the purchase?
In this Luxome weighted blanket review, I’ll go over the benefits of weighted blankets, the product line, customer feedback, and more to help you decide if these blankets are worth giving a try.
Overview of Luxome
Luxome does not provide much information about the brand on its website, focusing solely on the products. Luxome states that their weighted blankets have “helped over 50,000 customers reduce stress and sleep better”. Whether this figure only counts satisfied customers or all customers, I can’t say for sure.
Luxome bedding is produced by world-class manufacturers in China. The product line is warehoused in Michigan at the company’s headquarters, where product development, testing and design take place. The brand was founded in 2018 – so it’s fairly new on the scene.
In addition to weighted blankets, Luxome also offers high-quality pillows and bamboo beds. Before I go into the full range, it’s important to know why you would choose a weighted blanket in the first place.
Benefits of Weighted Blankets
According to Luxome, weighted blankets have been used for many years to treat problems such as insomnia and autism. These blankets are based on the same concept as swaddling: a constant pressure on the skin that mimics the comfort of the womb and naturally elicits a relaxed response.
Obviously, no one reading this is a baby, but that doesn’t mean the physiological sensations we developed in our mother’s womb aren’t preserved for us. It seems relevant to why a) babies like to be wrapped up like burritos and b) some adults like to sleep in the fetal position and c) a tight hug can be soothing when you’re anxious.
It is well known that a good night’s sleep has a huge impact on cognitive ability, mood, work performance and driving ability (falling asleep at the wheel is not uncommon). What is less well known is that a lack of sleep contributes to a weakened immune system and a higher risk of diabetes, heart disease and high blood pressure. Luxome points out that sleep deprivation has been linked to a number of major disasters, including Chernobyl.
Mentioning a horrific historical event on a weighted blanket website may be unusual, but I think it emphasizes how important a good night’s sleep is. Parents reading this Luxome weighted blanket know how important a regular sleep schedule is to their child’s development and behavior. The only thing worse than a hungry child is a sleep-deprived child.
Kids will never be the angels they appear to be when they drift off to sleep, but a few solid zzz’s will make life better for both of you.

Luxome Weighted Blankets
Before I get into the collection, let me briefly explain what makes Luxome blankets so unique. They contain non-toxic, hypoallergenic 1mm glass beads to set the weight and are specially designed so that the beads don’t bunch up and cause uneven weight distribution. Each blanket contains small pockets of filling to distribute the beads evenly. This differs from other weighted blankets on the market.
Luxome blankets have an optimized weight per square meter – in other words, you don’t have to choose a specific weight for your blanket. According to their studies, an optimal weight per square meter has been agreed upon by almost all people regardless of age, weight and height. Simply choose the size that’s right for you and you’ll get the right weight distribution.
Weighted blankets cost more than average blankets, so I appreciate that Luxome offers flexible payment options. Customers can pay for the products upfront or in Klarna installments. You can find more information about this payment method in the FAQ section. Next up in this Luxome Weighted Blankets review, I’ll cover pretty much every product they offer:
Integrated Cover Blanket
The Luxome Integrated Cover Blanket is a 2-in-1 cover and weighted blanket – perfect for anyone who wants to do less laundry or is annoyed by having to squeeze their comforter into the cover. I’ve experienced that too, so I think this idea is pretty clever. There are three fabric options to choose from:
The 100% organic lyocell bamboo fabric feels like a combination of high quality cotton and silk. It’s cooling, moisture-wicking, thermo-regulating, anti-bacterial, hypoallergenic, eco-friendly and ultra-soft. Alternatively, you can opt for the soft and cozy Minky fabric, which is warmer but still cooler than fleece, microfiber and flannel. Or you can opt for bamboo/nicky, where each side has the advantages of both fabrics.
The blanket with integrated cover comes with an Oxford carry bag and is machine washable – so just throw it in the washing machine, pop it in the dryer, lay it on the bed and you’re done. That’s it. This Luxome weighted blanket is available in different colors. Here are the prices according to size and weight:
Removable Cover Blanket
The blanket with removable cover from Luxome consists of an inner blanket made of 100% percale cotton and a removable cover in three fabric variants. The bamboo/minky material is cool on one side and cozy on the other. It is made of 100% organic Lyocell bamboo fabric on one side and 300-thread count cotton on the other.
There is also a choice of 100% organic bamboo and the super cozy Minky material. I imagine myself cozying up on the couch with this blanket for a winter nap.
The blanket with removable cover comes with an oxford carry bag and is machine washable. This weighted blanket is available in a variety of colors, covers and weight options.
Cooling Blankets
If you live in a warm climate or are a hot sleeper, a regular blanket isn’t always enough, even if you have the air conditioning turned up. I know this because I struggle to stay cool at night. Legs in, legs out, blanket on, blanket off. It’s a crazy game that results in me not sleeping as well as I should.
The Cooling Blanket from Luxome offers a comfortable weight and keeps you from overheating at night. It’s available with a 100% bamboo or bamboo/minky carry bag, either with a removable cover or with an integrated cover.
If you are a really hot sleeper, the integrated bamboo blanket is the lightest and coolest option. The Luxome Cooling Blanket is available with a removable bamboo/ninky cover in white, gray, beige or grid; with a removable bamboo cover in gray or white; with an integrated bamboo cover in gray or beige; and with an integrated bamboo/ninky cover in two-tone gray.
LAYR Adjustable Pillow
Luxome offers the LAYR Adjustable Pillow as a supplement to its weight blankets. Its firmness and height are adjustable to provide optimal neck support, so it’s no ordinary pillow. I often change my sleeping position, so I appreciate features like this.
The adjustable pillow features gel and CertiPUR-US memory foam, mesh ventilation and cooling technology, and has a cover that is antimicrobial and thermo-regulating.
The customizable element of the LAYR Adjustable Pillow lies in the inserts. The Luxome pillow comes with three inserts, each with a different effect:
- The soft insert consists of a high-quality down alternative, for those who like particularly cozy and soft pillows.
- The medium insert contains a mixture of gel-infused, shredded memory foam and soft down alternatives
- The firm insert consists of a 1“ and 2” piece of firm, gel-infused memory foam, both in a breathable cotton cover that aids in thermoregulation.
You can find an ideal configuration of two inserts or use all three for a super high loft pillow. All components of the LAYR Adjustable Pillow are machine washable. The Standard/Queen size is $130 and the King size is $160.
Bamboo Sheets
If you’re going for a high-quality comforter or pillow, then you should also opt for a really luxurious sheet. As I’m a very warm sleeper, I’m delighted with the Bamboo Sheet Set from Luxome. It’s made from 100% pure bamboo and has a thread count of 400, which is supposed to be softer than Egyptian cotton with 1,000 threads. The satin weave ensures extreme softness, optimum cooling and high durability.
The Luxome Bamboo Sheet Set is moisture-wicking and thermo-regulating to keep you cool in summer and warm in winter. Each set includes one fitted sheet, one flat sheet and two pillowcases.
Luxome’s bamboo sheets come in 10 colors, including sky blue, grey, beige, sage and terracotta. I find the sage color very calming. This Luxome set is available in the following sizes:
- Twin & TwinXL: $120
- Full $135
- Queen $145
- King & Cali King $160
- Split King $175
Luxome Reviews: What Do Customers Think?
Customers can leave reviews for the Luxome cooling blanket on the website, where I found over 8,400 4.8-star reviews. As I dug through the comments, reviewers confirmed that the cooling blanket does indeed cool, attested to the quality of the blankets, and described them as cozy/comfortable/comfortable. Many customers had tried other weighted blankets before Luxome and concluded that this brand was better.
The reviews on the brand’s website were very positive, but that’s not really surprising. I ventured further online for this Luxome weighted blanket. Tuck Sleep researched customer feedback and found that the Luxome weighted blankets were characterized by a higher quality glass bead tray and that customers did not report weight shifting.
Supercomfysleep wrote a review of Luxome weighted blankets and reported that the fabrics were cooler than other brands. This reviewer also found Luxome’s blankets to be the perfect size and weight.
I also looked at the Luxome weighted blanket reviews on Amazon for the Integrated Cover Blanket with Minky Cover, which has a 4.6/5 star rating. The only negative comments were that the blanket doesn’t cool enough, but if that was the goal, they shouldn’t have chosen the minky-covered option, which is warmer than the 100% bamboo blanket.
My final thoughts: it’s safe to say in this Luxome Weighted Blankets review that you get what you pay for with these products. They are definitely more expensive when it comes to blankets, but not outrageously so. If you want to invest in a high quality weighted blanket, it’s not going to come cheap. With Luxome, you’re on the safe side, and you can always return the blanket, pillow or sheet set if you’re not satisfied.

FAQ
Size of the blanket
Luxome recommends the 42“ x 56” blanket for children aged 4 and up. For teens, smaller adults and couch blankets, the 54“ x 72” size is ideal. The 60“ x 80” size is recommended for most adults, and the 100“ x 85” blanket is suitable for king size beds.
Care instructions
To keep Luxome blankets in top condition, machine wash them in cold water on a gentle cycle. The brand also recommends running an additional rinse cycle after the main wash and not using bleach or fabric softener. Luxome blankets should be tumble dried on low heat on the gentlest setting.

As I mentioned in this review of the Luxome weighted bedspreads, you can either pay for the items upfront or in 4 Klarna installments. If you opt for the payment plan, select this option at checkout.
