The Hygge Box is perfect for anyone who wants to feel good at home. Hygge is a lifestyle, a kind of self-care for the mind, body, and soul. This month’s box was themed “Rise & Shine” and included products to help us start the day hyggelig: a pancake mix, a candle, and coffee. You can see what else I received below! Please note that this is a review of the Deluxe Box and the additional item is at the end of the review.
Swedish Tea Towel You can use this reusable tea towel just like a regular dish towel (for wiping counters or dishes) or a paper towel (for wiping up spills or cleaning windows). It can be machine washed several times, but it’s better to dry it flat than put it in the dryer.
Pære Soy Candle I think there’s a candle in every box, and this one reminds me of a pear, from the name, the color, and the shape. You need to place the candle on a fireproof dish before lighting it or using it as decoration. It does not have a scent.
Hygge Box Review: Deluxe Box
Cartmel Sticky Toffee Sauce (about $2.57) My daughter saw this sauce in the refrigerator and knew it was from England, but can you imagine that I never tried Sticky Toffee Pudding in the two years I lived there? It’s similar to caramel or dulce de leche, except it’s exceptionally smooth and almost chewy at room temperature (it thickens in the fridge, though). It has a molasses note that is not present in the versions in the United States. You can pour it over ice cream, eat it as a dip with apples, saute it with bananas and a little rum, or pour it over pancakes. I prefer to eat it with a spoon!
Finding Home Farms Buttermilk Pancake Mix ($10) If you want a homemade breakfast in no time, grab this pancake and waffle mix! Add oil, water, and an egg, and breakfast will be on the table in no time.
The Coffee Brewer Organic Gourmet Coffee ($2.08) Here’s another product from Europe – Denmark, to be exact (although the coffee beans come from Colombia). Simply fill the bag with hot water to taste (there are lines to guide you), seal, and wait a few minutes before pouring. The water in the bag is enough for 2 cups of coffee, and you can rinse the bag out, fill it with your own ground beans, and then use it again and again (on a camping trip or in a hotel, for example). The flavor notes mention roasted almonds, pomelo, and chocolate, but since I don’t drink coffee, I can’t comment on that. I am tempted to use it for iced coffee though.

Deluxe Set Item
Raine & Humble Honey Bee Napkins ($17.99) I’ve really missed collecting items with bees (my name means bee) because I’ve been focused on butterflies for a long time, but now I have a few items with bees in my house and I’m happy to add these cloth napkins! They are made from a recycled cotton blend and measure 16″ x 16″. There are four pieces in the set and the bees have mustard-colored bodies on a taupe linen background.
Thanks to June’s Rise & Shine-themed box, my morning is already off to a great start! I haven’t tried the pancakes yet, but I plan to make them soon, and there’s enough mix so I can make the waffle version too. I’ve already used up half the jar of caramel sauce, and I’m not ashamed to say that I ate it straight up with a spoon each time. My daughter really enjoyed the coffee and I love the bee towels, they are so cute. Hygge Box introduces me to things I might not otherwise find, like the Swedish tea towels and the pear candle. They always send things that appeal to me and I love using the products in my life, whether it’s reusable items or one-time snacks.
